How To:
- Update a computer password off-campus

- Staff & Faculty with an ESU computer
Steps
- For ease of use we recommend changing your password while you are on campus and then restarting your computer to force you to sign into your computer and applications using your new password. In the case that this is not possible you can go through these steps to reset your password if you are off campus with your University owned computer.
Note: If you change your password and need to now sign into your computer, you will need to sign into the computer with your old password first. If for some reason you cannot get logged in or have forgotten your password your computer password it will need to be brought to campus and connected to the Wi-Fi or ethernet before you will be able to sign in.
If you want to change your password from your ESU computer off-campus:
1) In order to change your Windows computer password when off-campus you need to be signed into the VPN first.
2) Click Control+ALT+Delete on your keyboard.
3) Click Reset Password and follow the steps to reset your password. You will now be able to log into your computer and ESU systems with your new password.
4) You can now disconnect from the VPN if you would
If you need to update the password on your ESU computer at home:
1) Make sure you are connected to the VPN.
2) Click Windows+L. This will lock your screen. Log back in with your newest password. Your password is now updated on your computer.
