Applies To:
Steps:
1) Before adding the printer to your Mac, drivers for the printer must be installed. Using your web browser, visit https://onyxweb.mykonicaminolta.com/OneStopProductSupport
In the Search Type, select Product Category.
In Product Category, select Color Multifunction Printers.
In Select A Product, select the model of your specific printer.
2) On the right of the page that is displayed, select Drivers.
3) In the list of operating systems, select the one for your Mac. If you are using the newest Mojave, you will select 10.14.x.
4) Click the link for the Mac Driver. This will be a string of printer model numbers ending in .ZIP
5) Open your Downloads folder, then open the ZIP file you have previously downloaded.
6) This will create a folder called Driver. Open that, and then open OS_10_9_x, then A4.
7) Double-click the PKG file in the A4 folder. This will launch the installer for the printer driver. Click Continue through the installer. You will need to click Continue several times. Click Agree when you are asked to do so, and click Install when it comes up. If you are asked to enter a password, enter the password for your Mac. When the installed is finished, click Close.
8) Now you will add the printer to your computer. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left, then System Preferences. Click on Printers & Scanners. Click the + to add the printer.
9) Select the IP tab. For Address, enter the numerical IP address of your printer. This can be found on a label on the printer. (If you cannot locate the IP address please call the help desk for assistance) Enter the alphanumeric Name of the printer. This also is found on the printer, and will be a combination of the room number and printer model number. If you’d like, you can enter the printer’s location. This is helpful if you print to multiple printers so they will be easier to tell apart. In the Use option, choose Select Software.
10) In the list that comes up, select your printer model number and click OK. Click Add.
11) On the options screen that comes up, select any options your printer might have installed. If you’re not sure, leave them as they are and you can modify them later. Click OK. The installation will finish, and it will be available from your list of printers.
12) If you need to add a printer code, see the related article: Adding an Access Code for a Konica Minolta Printer on a Mac
