Applies To:

  • Staff and Faculty who use a Mac and have access to files on W:\ and X:\

Steps:

If you have access to W Drive or X Drive(Netscan) you will need to map those locations to your computer before you can access them on your Mac device.


How to Map a Network Drive on your Mac

1) On your Mac device open "Finder" then at the top of the screen in the "Menu bar" click "Go" then click "Connect to Server". (Or use the key combo: ⌘ + K)

2) To map the "W:\" W-Drive type: "smb://fileserver01/shared".
     To map the "X:\" X-Drive type: "smb://fileserver01/specialized".

2a) After typing the address click "Connect
(You can also click the "+" button to add the address as a "Favorite Server".)

3) Enter your ESU username and your ESU password then click "Connect".

4) The drive will now be listed in "Finder" for you to access.
