DUO Bypass Code - Self Service

How To:

  • Set up a platform-independent authenticator for duo

Steps:

If you have already set up DUO, but you receive this error message when trying to sign in:

You will need to set up a platform-independent authentication method. 


1. You will need to navigate back to the device that has the platform-dependent authentication method. This is typically when Face ID, Touch ID, or a Google Keychain is set up with DUO. Phones are typically the devices with the platform-dependent authentication method. 

 

2. From the device that has the Face ID, Touch ID, or a Google Keychain, Open up a browser, go to hornet365.com, click 'Students', then click the 'Canvas' tab and log in with your user name and password. Instead of continuing with the authentication, click 'Other Options' at the bottom

3. From these options, select Manage Devices

4. You will need to verify your identity with Face ID / Touch ID on this next screen

5. On the next screen select 'Add a Device'

6. Select either DUO Mobile, Security Key, or Phone number. All of these methods are platform-independent, and will work on different devices.
