Connecting to Wireless Networks on campus

Summary

Connecting to different wireless networks on campus

Body

Available Wi-Fi Networks on campus

Connecting to Hornet Nation:

  • Students, staff and faculty will use Hornet Nation from their laptops and mobile devices to be connected across campus. Once they choose this network a browser window should open and prompt them to sign in. They will need to sign in with their ESU username/password. You should only sign into this page using your username.
  • Note: The system will respond with access denied if your password is expired, password is incorrect, or if you are attempting to sign in using your entire email.
  • This network is used if you need to access key systems such as Cognos, Banner Admin Pages, SkyPrint, or other On-campus resources.

Connecting to Hornet Hall:

  • Hornet Hall is accessible when in any of the Dorm buildings and requires a password to be connected to.
  • You can speak with a member of residential life for the password to this network or keep an eye out for signs posted around the inside of the building that list the password.

ESU Guest Network:

  • Users will get a pop-up once connecting that states they need to accept the university terms of service to use the network. After accepting you can use the network connection as normal. If you do not accept the terms and service agreement your connection to the Internet will not work.
  • Any services that require you to be on campus will not be reachable by this network. For example you will not be able to reach SkyPrint, Banner Admin Pages, or Cognos.
