Setup Google 2-step verification (Text Code)

  • Setup Your ESU Google account with 2-step verification

Applies To:

  • Students, Retirees, Alumni or Employees with @g.emporia.edu email accounts

Steps:

You can set this up from the Google App on your mobile device or using the web browser on your computer.

 

Note: If you have signed into your Gmail account before but did not successfully setup Google 2-step verification you may be locked out of your account. You will receive the following error:

1. Sign into your ESU g.emporia.edu account at any Google website.

3. On the Google 2-step verification screen, click Enroll

4. Verify your device with a text or phone call. (Enter a phone number that you can easily access, such as your own personal phone).

5. Enter the code you receive. (The "G" is not required when verifying the code)

6. Click Turn On on the confirmation screen.

After clicking the turn on button you have now successfully setup Google 2-step verification and you can now exit this page and go back to whatever Google application you would like.
