- Set up Multi-Factor Authentication for Outlook Email and Office Applications

Steps
1) When Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) has been enabled for your account, you may see a box similar to this pop up while you are using an Office App such as Teams or Outlook. Enter your university password.
2) Click Next.
3) In this box you will choose the verification method you would prefer.
In the first step, select one of 3 options:

Authentication phone - Allows your cell phone to receive texts or calls for verification (choose one method)

Office phone - Allow your university office phone (Only use a line that is not shared with others)

Mobile App - Will require you to download an app to your phone to receive verification codes or notifications
4) Authentication Phone
Enter your phone number in the space provided. Click Next.
For Text- go to the next step
For Call me- go to step 8
5) You will receive a text message at the number you specified
6) Enter code you received. You will receive a message that the set up was successful and your Microsoft app will load.
Stop here – you are done!
